Canada Accepts PTE Academic Exam, Abroad Students Under non-Study Direct Stream Can Utilize This Facility
PTE is the shorter form of Pearson Test Of English, an English language test, designed and introduced by Pearson PLC group.
The main purpose of the PTE exam is to check the English proficiency of non-native English speakers, who want to goEnglish-speaking countries for education or work.
PTE Academic is accepted by 80 plus countries worldwide and by the end of this year more nations will join the list.
Canada has joined the list recently, the vast nation is accepting the PTE Academic scores of international students applying under regular study permit I.e non-Study Direct Stream.
IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) announced that they are recognising PTE Academic as a Secure English Language Test that can be used for the regular study permit.
Students who are not eligible for the Student Direct Stream, the fast visa process, can utilize this facility
IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT including the latest addition (PTE Academic test) will be accepted for the non-SDS stream, while For SDS stream, only IELTS (both IELTS Academic and IELTS General) is being accepted.
In this year 2020 itself, nearly 46 educational institutions in Canada have recognised PTE Academic bringing taking the total to 194.
PTE is growing rapidly, it is being recognized by more than 700 institutions Globally including top Universities like INSEAD and Harvard and is applicable for around 1800 courses.
PTE is the combination of four parts- Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening. However, Speaking and Writing comes in a single part.
PTE is a computer based exam of 3 hours (at a stretch) without human monitoring or intervention. There are two types PTE Academic and PTE General.
