Youngstown State University, also known as YSU, is a reputable public research university in Youngstown, Ohio. Established in 1908, it got to known as Youngstown College in 1931 and sought accreditation from the North Central Association in 1944.


The 145-acre Youngstown State University campus is located in the scenic Mahoning Valley in the city of Youngstown, Ohio. It features reading and study rooms, computer labs, a copying center, various restaurants, and many student affairs offices. There are additionally many meeting and seminar rooms.

SUF is an autonomous, non-profit association that distributes resources from privately held funds to help YSU students through grants. A finished Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a necessity for availing benefits under numerous scholarships. There are currently 357 scholarships granted through completion of this application
